1. SPEAKING (INSTRUCTION) Last period, I gave you a task “ Talking about Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam, using the pictures you draw by yourselves.”Have you prepared it yet ? Ok ,show and talk about them. Sample 1 Hello my name’s .today I would like to introduce to you about van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam. Welcome to Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam, the first university in viet Nam.It was built in 1076. Many Vietnamese scholars graduated from this university. Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam includes four main gates and five courtyards. The entrance to the first couryard is called Van Mieu gate. The other three gates are great middle gate, Khue van Pavilion and gate of great success. In the first two courtyards, there are old trees, beautiful flowers and lawns. The third courtyard consists of Thien Quang Tinh well and the doctors’ stone tablets. The next courtyard is the temple of literature. It also has gift shops and a small museum. The buildings in the last courtyard were reconstructed. In 2003, four statues : Ly Thanh Tong, Ly nhan tong, Le Thanh Tong and Chu Van An were built. I can say that Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam is an interesting place for tourists to come and visit. Thank you for your listening. Sample 2 Hello, everyone. My name’s Today I will introduce something about the Temple of literature- the Imperial Academy. The Temple of literature is considered one of the most important cultural and historic places in Viet Nam. The temple of literature was built in 1070. In 1076, The Imperial Academy was established and it’s considered the first university in Viet Nam. Coming here, you can enjoy beautiful landscapes. You also have a chance to see Van Mieu gate, khue Van Pavilion, regarded as the symbol of Ha Noi, Thien Quang Tinh well and 82 doctors’ stone tablets.Moreover, you can see four statues : Ly Thanh Tong, Ly nhan tong, Le Thanh Tong and Chu Van An which were built in 2003. Especially lots of souvenirs are sold inside the temple of literature.I hope

Ly Thanh Tong was born in 1023. He is considered the founder of the Temple of literature, and he died in 1072. 2. This is the statue of Emperor Nhan ly Tong. Ly Nhan Tong was born in 1066. He is regarded as the builder of the Imperial Academy, and he died in 1128. 3. This is the statue of King le Thanh Tong. Le Thanh Tong was born in 1442.
