1. Câu hỏi đuôi có những nguyên tắc chính như sau: 1. Nếu câu phát biểu là khẳng định, câu hỏi đuôi phải là phủ định và ngược lại. Ví dụ: - She is late again, isn’t she? - You don’t know me, do you? 2. Với động từ khiếm khuyết: can, could, may, might, will, shall, should ta dùng động từ khiếm khuyết (not) + Subject. Ví dụ: - She can sing, can’t she? - She mightn’t come, might she? 3. Với những câu phát biểu ở thì hiện tại đơn, ta phải mượn trợ từ “Do” hoặc “Does). Ví dụ 1: He sings well, doesn’t he? Ví dụ 2: They sing well, don’t they? Ví dụ 3: He doesn’t sing well, does he? Ví dụ 4: They don’t sing well, do they? 4. Với những câu phát biểu ở thì quá khứ đơn, ta phải mượn trợ từ “Did” hoăc “Was”, “Were”. Ví dụ 1: She sang well, didn’t she? Ví dụ 2: She didn’t sing well, did she? Ví dụ 3: They were handsome, weren’t they? 5. Với những câu phát biểu ở thì hiện tại hoàn thành, ta phải mượn trợ từ “have” hoặc “has”. Ví dụ 1: She has done her homework, hasn’t she? 6. Với những câu phát biểu là thì quá khứ hoàn thành, ta phải mượn trợ từ “had”. Ví dụ 1: She had done her homework, hadn’t she? 7. Các trường hợp đặc biệt khác: Used to → didn’t Ví dụ: She used to go for a walk, didn’t she? Had better → hadn’t Ví dụ: I had better do my exercise, hadn’t I? Would rather → wouldn’t Ví dụ: They would rather go out than stay at home, wouldn’t they? EXERCISE I 1. Lan enjoys watching TV after dinner, does she? 2. Tam didn’t go to school yesterday, did he? 3.
