- I. RELATIVE CLAUSES (mệnh đề đại từ quan hệ): who, whom, which, whose, that: 1. Mệnh đề xác định (defining) là mệnh đề mà danh từ ở câu trước chưa biết, nên cần câu thứ 2 để XÁC ĐỊNH, làm rõ nghĩa (a boy, the boy) Ex: I don’t know the girl who/ that you meet yesterday. (The girl không biết là cô nào) 2. Mệnh đề không xác định (non-defining) là mệnh đề mà danh từ đã biết, không cần phải XÁC ĐỊNH làm rõ nữa. Câu thứ 2 chỉ để văn phong hay hơn.
