- U12-NHWa 1 Unit 12: Life’s an adventure! I. Grammar 1. Future plans: going to 1.1 Uses Going to expresses a person’s plans and intentions . E.g.: She is going to be a ballet dancer when she grows up. We are going to stay in a villa in France this summer. Often there is no difference between going to and the present continuous to refer to a future intention. E.g.: I am seeing Peter tonight. I am going to see Peter tonight. We also use going to when we can see now that something is sure to happen in the future Eg: Careful! That glass is going to fall! With the verbs “to go”, “to come”, we usually use the Present continuous for future plans. Eg: we are going to Paris next week. Joe and Jim are coming for lunch tomorrow. 1.2 Formation Positive and negative I am have a break. You/we/ they are (not) + going stay at home. He/ she/ it is thuydunghulis@gmail.com
