Cách dùng: -Dùng để diễn tả một hành động lặp đi lặp lại như một thói quen - Một sự thật hiển nhiên. Chú ý: Trong câu thường có các trạng từ: always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, every Ex: He always goes to school by bus The sun sets in the west  The present continuous (Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn) 1. Chú ý: Trong câu thường có các trạng từ: now, at present, at the moment, at this time hoặc các động từ: look, listen đứng ở đầu câu. Ex: John is eating dinner now. The committee members are examining the material at present. Nó cũng được dùng để diễn đạt hành động sẽ xảy ra ở tương lai. Ex: We are leaving for the theater at seven o'clock. Henry is walking to school tomorrow. Công thức: TOBE ĐỘNG TỪ THƯỜNG (+) S + was/were (+) S + V (2/ed) (-) S + was/were + not (-) S + didn’t + Vinf (?) Was/Were + S + ? (?) Did + S + Vinf ? 2. Cách dùng: Dùng để diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ. 3. Chú ý: Trong câu thường có các trạng từ: yesterday, last week, last month, last year, ago (cách đây) Ex: They went to the zoo yesterday She watched this film last week  Thì quá khứ tiếp diễn ( The past progressive) 1. Công thức: S + was/were + V-ING 2. Cách dùng: Dùng để diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ. Ex: What were you doing at 7 o’clock last night? Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra thì bị cắt ngang bởi một hành động khác trong quá khứ. Ex: The family was sleeping when the mailman came. Diễn tả 2 hành động cùng xảy ra song song trong quá khứ. Ex: My father was watching TV while my older brothers were playing video games. 3. Chú ý: Trong câu thường có các từ: when, while, as Hành động đang xảy ra: ta chia thì quá khứ tiếp diễn còn hành động cắt ngang ta chia thì quá khứ đơn.  The simple future (Thì tương lai đơn) 1. Công thức: WILL / SHALL BE GIONG TO (+) S + will/shall + V (bare) (+) S + be going to + V (bare) (-) S + will/shall + not + V (bare) (-) S + be going to + not + V (bare) (?) Will/Shall + S + V (bare) ? (?)Be going to + S + V (bare) ? 2. Cách dùng: Dùng để diễn tả một hành động sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai. 3. Chú ý:
  5. Trong câu thường có các trạng từ: tomorrow, tonight, next Ex: My family will build a house next year.  Thì hiện tại hoàn thành (The present perfect) 1. Công thức: S + have/has + PP 2. Cách dùng: Dùng để diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra trong quá khứ mà vẫn còn kéo dài đến hiện tại và tương lai. Ex: How long have you learned English? Dùng để diễn tả một hành động xảy ra hơn một lần trong quá khứ. Ex: I have seen this film three times. Dùng để diễn tả một hành động vừa mới xảy ra. Ex: She has just come back from USA Dùng để diễn tả một hành động. đã xảy ra mà không rõ thời gian Ex: I have already had dinner 3. Chú ý: Trong câu thường có các trạng từ: already, not yet, so far, up to now, lately, recently, since, for, never. ever, just  Thì quá khứ hoàn thành ( The past perfect) 1. Công thức: S + had + PP 2. Cách dùng: Dùng để diễn tả một hành động xảy ra trước một hành động khác hoặc trước một thời điểm khác trong quá khứ. Trong câu có hai động, hành động nào xảy ra trước, ta dùng thì quá khứ hoàn thành, còn hành động nào xảy ra sau, ta dùng thì quá khứ đơn. Ex: After John had washed his clothes, he began to study. George had waited for one hour before the bus came BEFORE+ quá khứ đơn+ quá khứ hoàn thành AFTER+ quá khứ hoàn thành+ quá khứ đơn Quá khứ hoàn thành+ BEFORE + quá khứ đơn Quá khứ đơn+ AFTER +quá khứ hoàn thành 8. Cách sử dụng -Diễn tả một hành động hoặc sự kiện được lên kế hoạch cho tương lai Ex:My daughter í going to get married - Một hành động hoặc sự kiện chắc chắn sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai ( có thể nhìn thấy một số dấu hiệu) Ex; Look at the black clouds.
